Despite the current political upheaval in Iraq, one area of the economy is already starting to recover – the Baghdad property market. But as some stability begins to emerge from the rubble, the property market has poked its head up from behind a parapet and said, “open for business.”

Prices for real estate in some parts of Baghdad have all but doubled since 2007 and many of these properties sell instantly once they are on the market. Leases are also hot property for many which create a huge vacuum right now as available real estate is rare indeed.
