Belarus’ capital Minsk has great investment opportunities boasting favourable investment climate for foreign capital.

Statistics speaks in favour of the growing interest of foreign businessmen in investing in economy and social sphere of the Belarusian capital. In the past three years foreign investments in municipal property for sale more than doubled and in H1 2008 grew 1.6 times. In 2007, the main investment sectors remained communications (27.7%), transport (15.9%), industry (14.7%), trade and public catering (11.7%).

Views on the Minsk real estate :

 

In 2008, several large-scale projects were launched. Thus, Al Qudra Holding International registered Al Qudra-Bela in Minsk and started designing a new 5-star hotel compound and a leisure centre on the shore of Chizhovsky reservoir. The general state reserve fund of Oman outlined three major projects to build office, hotel and public catering facilities in Minsk. The projects envisage relocation of Horizont and Kirov Machine-Tool Plant with compensation of losses to the land-users.

 

With a view to attracting investments and implementing urgent investment projects in Minsk, the City Council passed resolution No 1481 of June 20, 2008, listing land lots for sale via auctions to foreign investors for subsequent construction of residential buildings, trade centres and other amenities.

 

By 2015, 52 large investment projects worth of $10 billion will be implemented in Minsk. Most of them will be funded by foreign investors.
