Is a country located in Southern Africa, centred at approximately 26o49'S, 31o38'E. It is relatively small in area, similar in size to Kuwait. Swaziland is a landlocked country, bordered by South Africa on three sides except to the east, where it borders Mozambique.

All land in the Kingdom is considered held in trust by the King for his people. Non-residents may only apply for a lease through land-holding corporations with Swazis as directors. But land leases are unclear and uncertainty exists as to the details of land ownership rights. Real estate transactions by foreigners must be approved by the government.

Protection for patents, trademarks, and copyrights is currently inadequate under Swazi law. Swaziland has an intellectual property rights regime inherited from the colonial era, under which copyrights, patents, and trademarks were more or less protected under various acts promulgated by the colonial authorities. The Ministry of Justice, responsible for these concerns, has been working on improved laws.
